How to Block Adult Websites on Safari (iPhone, iPad, Mac)

Block adult websites in Safari across all your Apple devices using Screen Time โ€” and lock the settings so they actually stay blocked.

How to Block Adult Websites on Safari

Safari has a built-in adult content filter that works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Here's how to enable it โ€” and how to make sure it stays on.

On iPhone & iPad

  1. Open Settings โ†’ Screen Time
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions โ†’ toggle on
  3. Tap Content Restrictions โ†’ Web Content
  4. Select Limit Adult Websites
  5. (Optional) Add specific URLs under Never Allow

This applies to: - Regular Safari tabs - Private browsing tabs - In-app browsers that use Safari (most apps)

On Mac

  1. System Settings โ†’ Screen Time
  2. Click Content & Privacy โ†’ turn on
  3. Under Content Restrictions โ†’ Web Content โ†’ Limit Adult Websites

Block other browsers too

Limiting Safari is pointless if you can install Chrome, Firefox, or Brave.

In Screen Time โ†’ Content & Privacy โ†’ iTunes & App Store Purchases: - Set Installing Apps to Don't Allow - Set Deleting Apps to Don't Allow (so blockers can't be removed)

Lock the passcode so settings can't change

All of the above is reversible in 30 seconds โ€” if you know the Screen Time passcode.

LockIn replaces your passcode with a sealed code you don't see. For 1 day, 30 days, or a year, you literally cannot disable Safari's adult content filter.

That's the difference between "I tried" and "I can't."
